Is the 18 month - 3 year age range for Our Time  flexible?

Most definitely!  The age range is only a guideline.  Many 15-17 month old toddlers have enjoyed Our Time, though the younger the child, the more watching or wandering they may do in class.  (It will become evident that they are absorbing information as you see your child doing the class activities in the safety of your own home.)  Likewise, many parents have found that leaving their child in Our Time even up to age 4 is a wise choice.  Being present in the learning environment with your child is a precious one-on-one opportunity to watch and guide as the skill level increases and the creativity blossoms.   A Kindermusik Educator is skilled at guiding parents in making the class experience developmentally appropriate for the variety of ages in the class.

Can a 4 year old take Young Child classes?

Many 4 and a half year olds are quite successful in Young Child Semester 1classes.  Because we begin playing the glockenspiel during the end of that semester, children need to have the small muscle control evident in such activities as using scissors and writing their name with a pencil.

Can we join mid-semester?

YES!  Tuition will be prorated, though the full price of home materials will be charged.

Are advertised classes ever cancelled?

Unfortunately, yes.  We need enrollment of at least 4 - 5 children per class in order to hold that class.  If enrollment is low 2 weeks before the class is to start, you will be contacted so we can explore the option of another class.  The final decision will be made no later than 7 days before class start.  If no satisfactory arrangements can be made, any money you have paid will be refunded.

Can I bring siblings to class?

All family members are welcome during the last 10 minutes of Imagine That! and Kindermusik for the Young Child.  Younger siblings (generally up to 6 months old) who are content to sleep or watch from their car seat or carrier are welcome in Our Time and Family Time classes.  For the safety of all concerned and so that parents can devote their full attention to their child, siblings are not permitted in Village classes.

Do you offer make ups?

Only if we happen to offer another class during the week which would be appropriate for your child, in which case you are welcome to attend should you miss your own class.

Do you give deductions for missed classes?

Sorry, no.  But should you be aware of certain dates you will be gone prior to signing up,  notify the director and we will happily deduct for those classes.

What about snow days?

If the schools cancel for a snow day, there will be no Kindermusik classes.  We will always notify you via email as soon as we become aware of cancellation.  We reserve the right to one snow day per semester which will not be made up.  After that, an extra make up time will be scheduled if necessary.
